Track Name: Orange
all and all, little baby swings
in the Orange corner
pretty Willy sings a song
in the tragic traffic light
little Baby speaks
of his laughing lady
in her magic movie

Orange is a lover
in his morning fantasy
where the lights are indigo
and the little cargo
in the life of traffic
thinks it comes of liquid
and the plastic acid
makes me dreams in stardust.
Track Name: Bridges in the Stars
bridges to the stars
are a penny apiece
highways in the wind
lets drive on them
once we wished on stars....
we were children than
now we drive our cars
we drive our cars

air-o-planes and trains
are a dollar apiece
rivers to the sea
lets sail on them
once we dances on stars ....
we were children than
now we drive to work
we drive to work

..once we wished on stars
we were children than
now we drive our cars
we drive our cars

skip rope in the yard
and a dollar for...
icecream read and green
icecream read and green
once we looked and saw
the world was new and strange
now we drive to town
we drive to town
Track Name: Georga Rain
a rainy day
on the veranda
is cool on the face
in a long hot summer
Mama and Jane
swing on the hammock
swing on the hammock

we work all day
in the factory
but Georgia rain
and a Gin-and-Tonic
chases away, chases away
all that sweat and sorrow
all that sweat and sorrow

George is hard
in a long hot Summer
but Georgia rain
is like a gospel choir
chases away
all the sweat and sorrow
chases away
all the sweat and sorrow
Track Name: Handstands in the Corner
i'm running out of stories
i don't know what to say
like an old pot with a leak in it
.... a leaky pot.
"what were we talking about?"
don't look at me that way.

music in the morning
as i work on a painting
i'm painting in a corner
a corner of the world
i'm crying in the headlines
for a lost boy in the New York Times

--shadows on rivers
snow on a rose
winter and summer
winter and summer
comes out of the ground
comes drifting.. down

i'm writing a story
in the grooves of an LP
handstands in a corner
a corner of the world
the news papers burning
the lost boy is laughing

--shadows on rivers
snow on a rose
winter and summer
winter and summer
comes out of the ground
comes drifting ..down
Track Name: Black Car
a child, walks down, a dark streets
over a, bridge where, the river roars
a child, walks up, to the walls
of protection and belief
of protection and belief

Father, washes, his black car
out of, memory and, miles and miles
across, the decades, to where we are
cris-cross the world and cross my heart
criss-cross the world and cross my heart

--Mother what is that song you sing
don't wake up baby, put him to sleep
if i die before i wake
Humpty Dumpty will never break

walls in the, desert and, aluminum birds
Christ in Nevada and, fire works
cross the ocean on the forth of July
songs on the radio for an American child
songs on the radio for an American child

--Mother what is that song you sing
don't wake up baby, put him to sleep
if i die before i wake
Humpty Dumpty will never break
Track Name: the Difficulties
Eloise and Michel
came from the other side
of the world
looking for a better life

who could have foreseen
the difficulties

the welfare office
is not the happiest place
the people who work there are impatient
and over worked

who would believe them
we don't want charity

welfare to work is capricious
the situation is not a good situation
get in line, get in line, get in line, get in line
the phones don't work,the phones don't work,

but who could understand
i know what i'm talking about

but Eloise and Michel
went out to a local bar
and danced away the problems
and danced away the problems

and who could ever guess
the strength of dreamers
Track Name: Tommy Bold
Tommy Bold made a hole in my heart.
he stood in the kitchen at 11 years old
inside was warm outside was cold
between the twins in Desolation Row
between the twins in Desolation Row

we hitched to Mystic at 12 years old
and in that Summer so long ago
careless freedom was like gold
i played new music where the boats were old
i played new music where the boats were old

i hitched to Portland and the day was cold
after the ascendent at 16 years old
i stood in the hospital like a lost sole
but there would be another year
there would be other years

-- broken wings
fly over the bay
and Tommy's song
blows away

i got a letter at 35 years old
"Dear Ed, I hope you are doing well.
I hope to visit. maybe next year."
but we lost Tom at 36 years old.
we lost tom at 36 years old.

-- broken wings
fly over the bay
and Tommy's song
blows away
Track Name: Too Many Feet
-walkin' the dog
in the snow...in the snow

i try to keep
on the road

-too many feet
will trip you up...trip you up

like driving backwards
on a one way street.

-so i'm writing a song
i'll be.. here all night...

i'll be here all night

br.

-i'm watching the snow
fall out of the sky...out of the shy

but what does it know
what does it know

-and too many dreams
can trip you up...trip you up

like loaded dice.. like loaded dice

-but angels have wings
and Tony knows..Tony knows

the hills are old
the gates are gold

-so i'll have a beer
after the show
after the show

it's such a comfort
after a show
Track Name: Casa Verde
...and children played amoung the stones in the old church yard in San Antonio.
and i swore by the holy mother.. i would go, i would go to Casa Verde.

the sun beat down on me
and the men were mending there nets
in my mouth was the taste of salt
and that sweet face was my only thought

and i went down to the Gulf of Mexico.. when the fleet was going out to sea.
as i rode i could see the ocean and that place called Casa Verde ..

--it was then in the time of harvest / when a beautiful boy riding a palomino
said senor can you tell me please / the way Casa Verde.

the sun beat down on me
and the men were mending there nets
in my mouth was the taste of salt
and that sweet face was my only thought

--it was then in the time of harvest / when a beautiful boy riding a palomino
said senior can you tell me please / the way Casa Verde.

the sun beat down on me
and the men were mending there nets
in my mouth was the taste of salt
and that hansom face was my only thought

so i went down to the Gulf of Mexico.. when the fleet was going out to sea. as i rode i could see the ocean and that place called Casa Verde ..
Track Name: Sleeping on Sand (w/ Jay)
PALE, PALE GIRL IN GRAY MORNING SUN
THE ROAD IS WET THAT SHE WALKS UPON
SHE'S GOING DOWN TO FORT MILLER TOWN
THEN FRESNO, DAVIS TOO

I WAS SLEEPING ON THE SAND
YOU WOKE ME SO SOON
WHO IS WITH YOU NOW, MY LOVE?
THAT'S THE STANDARD QUESTION
LALALALALA

THERE'S A BIG ROOM DOWN BY THE SEA
THEY LIVE THERE WORKING ON THINGS
I THOUGHT I WOULD DRIVE OUT AT DAWN
BUT I SLEPT FAR TOO LONG

I WAS SLEEPING IN THE S
YOU WOKE ME SO SOON
WHERE ARE YOU TONIGHT, MY LOVE?
THAT'S A NORMAL QUESTION
LALALALALA
Jay Pluck
Track Name: Crazy Angels
it's just water under a bridge
a cats cradle and passing ships
a lover crossing the street
traffic stopped when the light was green

where was i going when you found me?
you took me with you down a two way street
when i left Boston i coulden't see
all the crazy angels you gave to me

all of the water under the sea
and the weather on T V
you don't expect it, you can't predict it
the hurricane that hit me.

so hold me closely
for one more dance
in my mind, one more dance

what i remember
are the steps
i remember the steps

in all this time
i wou't forget
in all this time
i wou't forget

it's just water under a bridge
a cats cradle and passing ships
a lover crossing the street
traffic stopped when the light was green

where was i going when you found me?
you took me with you down a two way street
when i left Boston i coulden't see
all the crazy angels you gave to me
