Peppermint & Rose
03:42
|
|||
what does anybody know about the world
and does anybody care, does anybody dare
can anybody show me flowers in the spring,
birds that like to sing,
peppermint and rose
did anybody see that golden lief falling from a tree?
and what about the sky; did you see the windy sky?
was anybody born, and did anybody die?
peppermint and rose

Blue Boxes
04:43
|
|||
That crazy man, is crossing the street.
Hay, look out Dad. Watch out for cars.
The saints
and sinners , may drive you down
to rivers.
And in the tumbled down, part of town
he sleeps in,boxes,blue.
The cops that come around, only frown.
A bright sunny day , the kids in the park
through baseballs and play, with there dads.
And on the
other side of town, a boy is driven down
to rivers.
And in a vacant lot, by the docks
we see a street ball game , with sticks and rocks.
and glitter from broken glass, makes a
wise guy laugh.

Heart Song
06:50
|
|||
here i sit at the old piano
the organs blowing, and the snow
is falling down
there is a glow
from the fire
there is a place that's called the
sea of time
and on this ship we hoist the flag of life
fish in the sea and birds in the sky
swim and fly
when the days are short
and nights are cold
and when the wind blows, and the snow
comes falling down, there is a glow
in my heart

Castles
04:44
|
|||
Billy keeps his thoughts to himself,
and when i say, "a penny for your thoughts",
Billy smiles, and pulls off my shoes.
i sigh, and undo his belt.
Castles in Spain
fall into the sea.
The Houses of Parliament
are burning.
i hold Billy so close.
and when we kiss, i know what he knows.
Billy smiles and pulls off my shirt.
the stars in our eyes are fireworks.
Castles in Spain
fall into the sea.
The Houses of Parliament
are burning...

A Shadow of Clouds
05:08
|
|||
a shadow of clouds cross the great plane
and smoke from the house rose into
the blue sky
the sunny sky
and the wind blew
and the wind blew
grass on the hill shivered and shook
a breeze from the plane made it chill
down by the lake,
and on little waves
a boy in a boat
a boy in a boat
a girl in a hat came out of the house
she walked to the gate
and she called out
"hey little boy in a boat
it's supper time
you'd better get home!
a shadow of clouds cross the great plane
and smoke from the house rose into
the blue sky
the sunny sky
and the wind blew
and the wind blew

Maple Street
02:54
|
|||
Saturday morning on Maple street
we found lumber across the street
to build a building / in a maple tree
six children in a tree
with hammers in branches and maple leaves
we will build what we believe ..
we chase the birds away and they flee
to evergreens down the street
we make castles in the leaves
of Maple trees..
Saturday morning on Maple street
we found lumber across the street
to build a building / in a maple tree

In the Summer Season
06:18
|
|||
little sparrow singing outside the nursery
and baby's sleeping on Daddy's knee
through an open window he can see
golden shadows
women in the garden sipping tea
have a conversation beneath the trees
laughing voices, a breeze in the leaves
in the Summer season
baby wakes up with a big yawn
so Daddy gets up and carries him
out to the garden, and he sings a song
for little sparrow

Yellow Shoes
04:47
|
|||
At the top of the stairs
a boy in blue jeans
ran a hand through his hair
and laughed at me.
Sparrows in a tree,
Eagle in the sky,
Your life brought me a little light
In a quiet room
the sunshine
shone on his white shirt
as he tried to read my mind.
"And he actually did it"
sometimes.
Your picture
still hangs in my mind.
"And he actually did it"
sometimes.
Your picture
still hangs in my mind.
It was many years ago
a boy
in yellow shoes
gave all his possessions away
but I couldn't loose
pine trees on hillsides
and that crazy school
where your mysterious smile
chased away the blues
pine trees on hillsides
and that crazy school
where your mysterious smile
chased away the blues

Will
03:35
|
|||
Your two eyes
come into my mind.
I see them still
after all this time.
And in the quiet
of the dusk.
I wonder what
you are doing, Will.
Your sweet voice
comes to my ear. The wise words
I still can hear.
And in the light
of the new dawn.
I wonder how
your getting on.
We climbed mountains
for the thrill.
We hitchhiked
around the world.
And I remember.
And I remember.
