Another Song
03:56
|
|||
don’t ask me why
on a sunny day like this
the sun sometimes shines
….sometimes
clocks may tell time
but it’s been a while
you slept in my bed
(talking on your phone)
and i was not alone
— old lovers are far apart
love and wisdom are hard to get
chasing romance — rolling dice
i stopped running when when left
Ronny was a boy i met
on the internet
at 24 you know showed
up on a sunny day
clocks may tell time
but it’s been a while
you slept in my bed
talking on your phone
and we were not alone

Beer from a Mug
03:57
|
|||
—I’m brushing my teeth …in a dark room
the mirrors covered with dust
like a priest who’s in love
I'm writing on paper
writing on walls
writing poems on your cuffs
aa i touched you with gloves
the boys at the bar
listen to songs …….
and sing along..
i drank wine in the park
with a kid who was smart
but sweet memories depart
like a poem in the dust
—I’m brushing my hair …in a dark mirror
writing poems in the dust
like a priest who’s in love
and i’m writing the words
on my walls and my cuffs
i won’t speak of love
but i touched you with gloves
the boys at the bar
listen to songs …….
and sing along..
i was washing my face… when i fell in love
i was playing a song .. and drinking beer from a mug

H J K

H J K, laughed at the baby blue
moon in July. Mars was our baby ’too
a New York sky…on a Summer night
remember when, i met you
it was lemon ice, at the zoo
you took an air-o-plane
yes you took an air-o-plane
HJK was a boy or girl i knew
Venus or Mars, i never knew
on a flight to Spain, margaritas on the plane
i remember boys in the nude
and i kissed a girl, when the moon was new
but you took an air-o-plane
and i miss you
Saturday, the wind from the west was cool
my long hair blew, in your face, when i kissed you
we ate lemon ice at the zoo
and i remember, your young face
your shining body at the lake
but you took an air-o-plane
yes you took an air-o-plane
H J K, laughed at the baby blue
moon in July. Mars was our baby ’too
a New York sky…on a Summer night
i remember boys in the nude
and i kissed a girl, when the moon was new
but you took an air-o-plane
and i miss you

..........................
we..
followed the line of the shore
looking out to sea
i couldn’t think
of a thing to need
but a silver wave
carried you away
what…
what day’s today
i walk into a breeze
the ocean sprays
on my face
the smell of sea
that takes me away
i ....
i knew sailer a boy
he was a mate
on “the ghost of Fate
when he sailed away
when he sailed away
on a sunny day
….

a Question of Time
03:52
|
|||
how many ways can i say.. i’m in pain
or walk down a street or sail away
a river flows into the next day
how many directions, how many ways
my brother questions the time of day
he doesn’t believe, the wisdom of slaves
the wisdom of clocks takes him away
old convictions, and lost elections
—at my desk, i trace what’s gone
from 1950 an old poem
i gathered dust from 1960
i saved whats left, to make a song
how many times.. can i say
what i believe and and what i know
my mother swept it out of the way
in her dreams lost children played
my father believed in the rule of law
written on paper and written in smoke
he sang for policemen, he liked there jokes
i never believed it and kept it secret
—at my desk, i trace what’s gone
from 1950 an old poem
i gathered dust from 1960
i saved whats left, to make a song
….
my vision of the world is old
the bars i visit are what i know
another train, another show
another train, another show
my brother questions the time of day
he doesn’t believe, the wisdom of slaves
the wisdom of clocks takes him away
old convictions, and lost elections...

Roger and Winston
04:15
|
|||
Roger worked.. in a grocery store
Winston was ..the manager
Winston liked ..what he saw
when Roger danced..danced in produce
—come and dance..Roger said
the woman at the register.. listened to the radio
flickering candles.. light the vegetables
as Roger and Winston ..walk down the aisle
the lady at the register.. played the piano
Mama smiled and Papa smiled
—come and dance..Roger said
the woman at the register.. listened to the radio
come with me ..Winston said
from the grocery store ..to my castle
it’s got two rooms and a kitchen
we’ll watch TV and eat vegetables
—come and dance..Roger said
the woman at the register.. listened to the radio
yes —come and dance..Roger said
the woman at the register.. listened to the radio

Waterfall
03:03
|
|||
tinsel floating in the sky
silver sparkles silver night
my baby dances in the blue
color of the moon
flames over waterfalls
leap into life
parachutes and silver spoons
“the sound of breaking windows”
speakers in the afternoon
politicians’ with new brooms
new musicians play old tunes
play old tunes
rain in the a Summertime
washes away the lines
brokien phones and falling bridges,
“the sound of breaking glass”
angels in a purple sky
knock on yellow doors at night
handsome angel makes me smile
makes me smile
flames over waterfalls
leap into life
hang gliders in a silver sky
“the sound of breaking hearts

a Word in Time
03:50
|
|||
follow the lights of time
travel on the winds of life
to a place where space and grace
zig-zags.. across the world
zig-zag.. in the afternoon
falling rain and broken spoons
to the place where i met you
i met you
....come walk with me
come talk to me
a word in time.. another rhyme
a walk on the beach
tumble down in states of gloom
presidents and parties play
...among the tombs
in cemeteries far away
but zig-zag.. in the afternoon
falling rain and broken spoons
to the place where i met you
i met you
... so come walk with me
come talk to me
a word in time.. another rhyme
a walk on the beach
