driving to Scotland
04:15
|
|||
..5 men at a table are driving to Portland
there waiting for breakfast
..and Summer is coming
.... it’s June again
Summer is coming, there unloading oranges
from Venezuela.
i’m playing piano
and whiskey in Coventry
were driving to Scotland
..and when i’m reading,
reading the Guardian
on a bus to London,
..i look out the window
it’s June in Long Island
Summer’s coming, were playing in Scotland
some women tried to pick me up
i said “ i’m sorry,” my boyfriend got married
i’m making a song again
.. a man in a red hat, is unloading oranges
at Valentino’s,
i was talking to Carl ..Carl’s retiring.
I'm thinking of tom again
Summer is coming, there unloading oranges
from Venezuela.
i’m playing piano
a whiskey in Coventry
were driving to Scotland

black shirt white paper
06:09
|
|||
after the rain.. in the afternoon
plane in the sky, as the sun broke through
light on the face of boy in blue
old men playing dominos
woman in gray.. is picking out vegetables
rock n’ roll plays from a radio
im reading the book at a table
capuchin and cake …cappuchino and cake
—i’m drawing today, on rice paper
black line on white paper
with nothing in mind i conjure memories
i’m drawing a face from a memory
i’m walking down the street to the pharmacy
...something for a headache..
i hear car breaks.. a pedestrian
cross at the green, not in-between
i had a black shirt, i was wearing it
like a sail in a scene , a scene on a screen
Errol Flynn set sail on a pirate ship
saving the cabin boy, a cabin boy
—i’m drawing today, on rice paper
black line on white paper
with nothing in mind i conjure memories
i’m drawing a face from a memory

orange marmalade

|

Orange Marmalade, on the table
cup of green tea, and my Mac Book
makes a cool light , like a night light
on a blue plate, bread and honey
take a day train, across the river
take the A train, to the clinic
see a doctor, get a check up
i’ll get dinner, if i have money
—all the windows, in the apartments
are like news reels.. in Technicolor
on the street and in the back yards
all the news is new
at Vickie’s Diner, i have dinner
say hi and eat.. a hamburger
on the night train, i cross the river
cup of green tea , and my Mac Book.

lost in thoughts
03:27
|
|||
i thought i loved you, when you left
some time ago, but that was than.
another man, another show
—over the rainbow, but i don’t know
…i don’t know
stars in the sky, stars at night
i’m watching ships, come and go
look at me, what do you see
—and something else, that i don’t know
another man, i don’t know
lost in thoughts of peace and war
landscapes and city streets that i know
and something else, but i don’t care
—when he’s— looking at me, drinking a beer
…when he’s looking at me..

butterfly on a piano
05:04
|

butterfly, on a piano,
by the window, where William plays
variations, on infinity
all he knows, is what he makes.
a pink moon, in the mirror
the front door, is never locked
and the dog comes home, when he wants to
all he says is let me in
—ships, and trains and images
of side walks in the villages
pedestrians on a weekend, shop in stores
shop in stores
satisfaction, guaranteed,
when you paint and you draw
when a singer, says what he wants to
if you don’t like it, it’s a free country.

by the window, where William plays
variations, on infinity
all he knows, is what he makes
—ships, and trains and images
of side walks in the villages
pedestrians on a weekend, shop in stores

a train is a thought
04:14
|
|||
i’m off on a train, an imaginary name
comes into my mind, a face i can’t find
i’m trying to sleep, it’s late at night
a train in my mind, a train is a thought
these memories i find, in my dreams when i sleep
a train at this time, keeps me awake
i can’t laugh, i can’t cry, a whistle from far away,
in my dreams at night, when i lay awake
some one in my life, some love i might find
in thoughts when i sleep.. that keeps me awake
the efforts i make, as trains pull away
the thing that i seek.. in dreams, when lie awake
i’m off on a train, an imaginary name
comes into my mind, a face i can’t find
i’m trying to sleep, it’s late at night
a train in my mind, a train is a thought
