|

o what have I
I see you in the sun
but the sun never sets
and the moon never shines
little eyes little eyes
o what am I
I see you in the night
but the sun never sets
and the moon never shines
little eyes little eyes
o what will I
I see you in the sky
but the sun never sets
and the moon never shines
little eyes little eyes

So
04:49
|
|||
green light
traffic on the street..the
boy with brown eyes
smiles when he sees
blue birds
flying in the sky
angle wings open when
he hears the choir
golden lights,
flicker in the night
may the saints bring a smile
to the boy with brown eyes
golden lights flicker
flicker in the night
may the saints bring a smile
to the boy with brown eyes

Gertrude Stein
03:57
|
|||
a rose is a rose, is a rose, is a rose
and i am walking down the street
i'm brushing the hair out of my face
so i can see
the handsome youth standing on the corner
waiting for a bus
he's having an argument with his girl
i hope that they make up.
a rose is a rose, is a rose, is a rose
what was that all about?
i heard about it in art school
and thought i'd look it up
Gertrude Stein would write all night
in the morning, Alice would type it up
and in the evening they would take there little dog
and go see Picasso and Dora Maar
la la la

a rose is a rose, is a rose, is a rose
i'm living in new york
i like the big streets and the big buildings
it's a great place to walk
but some times i'd like to go to a lonely beach
and just sit on the shore
and not think about the 60s or the 70s
just not think at all

Deep Water
03:15
|
|||
Water is deep.
The road goes on forever.
And some day we'll make
this world, a little brighter.
The rain is sweet.
The cows are in the clover.
And when wee meet
we'll be closer.
The sky is wide.
The rivers flow together.
and when they meet
the waves go out forever.
Water is deep.
The road goes on forever.
And some day we'll make
this world, a little brighter.

the Accordion Man
04:07
|
|||
flowers were made to explode
stars in the garden were exposed
and you can make a bleeding rose
and the accordion plays to slow
A castaway came into my mind
gave me another name, made me cry
and you can see him anytime
and the accordion man is blind
all water falls to fast
chases the gull and brings him back
marries the child and loves the land
and gives it to the accordion man
All of the songs they made I could sing
and at the garden gates I could swing
but when the train came i could see
what the accordion played for me
(and thats) all water falls to fast
chases the gull and brings him back
marries the child and loves the land
and gives it to the accordion man

For the World
02:08
|
|||
I knew a boy
who wore an old hat
he worked at the paper
he drove an old Chrysler
he liked to sing
a song in the morning
and after work he'd sing
a song before supper
for the word
I saw this boy
once in a while
his name was Alfred
I gave him a dollar
to sing a song
he sang in the morning
and after work he'd sing
a song before supper
for the word
he sang in the morning
and after work he'd sing
a song before supper
for the word

Moon in the Mind
04:56
|
|||
golden boats float down a
river of sighs
rain on the street is falling
tears my eyes
wings of an angel open
in the dark sky
rain on my face is falling
when billy cries
when billy cries
wind in the trees is blowing
thoughts in the mind
down on the street the cars are
passing by
passing by
when all the passengers
from nowhere, arrive
through the blue the rain that's pouring
we smile
wind on the water's blowing
moon in the mind
in the rain Billy's walking
don't cry
billy don't cry
wind in the trees is blowing
thoughts in the mind
down on the street the cars are
passing by
passing by
wings of an angel open
in the dark sky
rain on my face is falling
when billy cries
when billy cries

Maple Street
02:50
|
|||
Saturday morning on Maple street
we found lumber across the street
to build a building / in a maple tree
six children in a tree
with hammers in branches and maple leaves
we will build what we believe ..
we chase the birds away and they flee
to evergreens down the street
we make castles in the leaves
of Maple trees..
Saturday morning on Maple street
we found lumber across the street
to build a building / in a maple tree

Drum Song
02:19
|
|||
when i look up at the sky at night
the stars are bright
are bright
and on the dark street William beat beat beats
a drum of dark and deep sleep
ch
children dreaming in there deep sleep
monkey laughs, and clown is weeping
yellow bird
children singing ..la la la
when i'm walking on strange roads
i talk with children
and i'm not so lonely
bring me water and bring me fire
the stars will soon be bright
be bright
ch
children dreaming in there deep sleep
monkey laughs, and clown is weeping
yellow bird
children singing ..la la la
oh children, what do you know
of the shark that bites
and the flowers that grow
oh William beat your drum tonight
i'll cry like a clown
and laugh like a child
ch
children dreaming in there deep sleep
monkey laughs, and clown is weeping
yellow bird
children singing ..la la la
